LAPPING EVENT RULES
In order to provide a safe and fun event for all participants we expect all driver to adhere to our open-lapping rules:
- All drivers must attend the mandatory drivers meetings prior to the start of the event.
- All drivers AND passengers must complete the SpeedWaiver, for the specific event, to obtain a wrist band. Wrist bands must be worn and visible to permit access onto the track or pit lane.
- All vehicles being driven on track must have a St. LAC annual technical inspection form completed and submitted.
- Helmets are mandatory for all drivers and passengers while on track. Helmets must be DOT rated or above.
- Unless otherwise noted during the drivers meeting point-to-pass is in effect using hand signals. All passing is to be completed in the designated passing zones.
- Any vehicle that leaves the track where all four wheels are off the tarmac MUST exit the track at pit-out for an ‘all clear’ inspection by the pit official.
- Do not drag race along the straights and check mirrors regularly. Lapping events are NOT a race. If you are ‘stuck’ behind cars and are unable to pass perform a pit ‘drive through’ to re-enter the track in lighter traffic.
- Failure to adhere to the lapping event rules, adhering to point-to-pass guidelines, or operating the vehicle in an aggressive or dangerous manner, will result in the participant being asked to leave the even, without reimbursement, by the event organizers at their sole discretion.
Point-to-pass guidelines:
- The slower, leading car controls the pace. DO NOT PASS UNLESS YOU HAVE RECEIVED A CLEAR POINT-TO-PASS SIGNAL.
- To indicate point-to-pass the DRIVER of the slower car uses clear hand signals, with hand outside of the vehicle, to point to the direction the passing car should pass on.
- In general the slower car should maintain the racing line and the faster car passes off-line.
- The slower car should slow down to ensure a safe pass can be completed.
- If you are uncertain as to how execute these guidelines please seek assistance from any St. LAC official, event organizer or seasoned participant. We are here to help and want everybody to have fun.
